Special events provides Kings Mountain residents and visitors with year-round family-style entertainment, by producing and promoting free festivals and city-wide holiday celebrations.

Susan Mosk

Marketing, Tourism and Events Manager

 

Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Susan Mosk has now been a resident of Kings Mountain for 32 years.  She is a graduate of Laselle University with a diverse business degree in Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Accounting.  Her career in Gaston County included being a business owner as well as working with the YMCA, government committees, tourism development authorities, and the hospitality industry.  She served for years as the President of the Strikers of Gaston County Soccer Association.  As a Rotarian, she was awarded the Distinguished Rotarian of the Year award for 2022.  

Susan is now looking forward to working with Kings Mountain Stakeholders to market Kings Mountain as the perfect place to visit, live, work, and play.

ANGELA PADGETT

Special Events COORDINATOR

 

A native of Kings Mountain, Angela Padgett is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting.

Angela honed her skills in Management, Marketing and Event Planning with 16 years at Hendrick Motorsports. In 2012, she came home to Cleveland County holding various leadership roles while gaining experience in Non-Profit and Fundraising Management. 

Serving as a Special Events Coordinator for the City of Kings Mountain since 2019, she enjoys bringing free fun and excitement to the entire community.

GABRIEL THOMAS

Events Specialist 

Gabriel Thomas is a local resident of our city where he continues to live with his wife (Cameran) and two children (Jaron and Alayah).  Graduating from KMHS in 2008, he spent his four years developing his skills in Audio, Lighting and Stage Production, Computer Science and Leadership Management.  As the first to start the Advance Tech Class, he helped design a curriculum to maximize knowledge in the areas of set-design, audio and lighting.   He was the first tech student to be awarded the theatrical scholarship.  

After graduation, he went on to Cleveland Community College where he majored in Radio/TV Broadcasting, making the President's List for his GPA. While there he had the privilege to serve as producer, director and technical director on different shows from C-19 TV.

His career has spanned over the last 13 years giving him experience in Event Management Audio/Visual Production, Sales Management, Leadership Training, Pastoral Ministry, and Public Communication.  While starting with the City of Kings Mountain in July-2022 as an Event Specialist, he looks forward to serving the residence of KM through his skillset that he brings to the table.    

When not working a City event, you will most likely find him either on the road with his band, preaching, writing songs or in the studio producing for different projects.
